The Organisers
Hel (they/them causing may/hem)
Hel grew up in Magandjin/Meanjin on Yuggera and Turrbal land. They have a connection to the river waters of Maiwar and the ocean/river waters of Currumbin on Yugambeh land. They have Swedish, Irish, and English ancestry, with ties to the protestant church, early childhood through tertiary schooling, and the railways. A stellium in Capricorn has led them to be involved in the prison abolition movement, a protester against cops in Pride, and a special education teacher. They have been exploring witchcraft for a number of years in online spaces and, after being given The Spiral Dance by an aunt, they found Reclaiming and a deeper sense of witchcraft tradition. Deepening always in relationship to spirit and sand, bats and ferns, they are a devilish and ecstatic lover, dancer, singer, and writer. Finding CloudCatcher in 2023, they are in their second year of organising for 2025 camp as Secretary Witch!
Millie (She/her)
Millie lives with her beloved family as settlers on Gubbi Gubbi country, a beutiful hinterland of trees and creeks running to the sea.
Her magical roots twine deep into animist traditions, herbal witchery, and the quiet spells of the home and garden. She is a kitchen witch with a Virgoan satchel of skills, and as a nurse she is a tender of bodies and spirits alike. Her magic lives in the small and sacred.
Having found her way to Reclaiming through blood, whispers, and a cracked-open heart, Millie is now in her first year of CloudCatcher organising. A devotee of both sacred chaos and well-structured to-do lists, she is delighted to be part of the weaving of this community through ritual, warmth, and wonder.
Hazel (they/them)
Hazel lives on stolen Ngunnawal Country, close to so called Canberra. They delight in spending time by the waterways of, and that flow to, the beautiful and mighty Yarr river.
They first found the Reclaiming community when they attended an Elements of Magic class in 2018 and have loved the tradition since. Five years later, they were thrilled to be able to attend their first Witchcamp in 2023, just as CloudCatcher returned to in person camps.
They are passionate about the beauty of the stars and night skies, the stories we can tell with and about those far away glittering lights. Along with stargazing, you're likely to find Hazel curled up with a good read, convincing their co-workers to unionise, walking with their dogs, or experimenting with a new kind of handcraft.
This is Hazel's second year as a CloudCatcher Organiser, and they are excited to be stepping into the role of BudgetWitch.
Gianna (she/they)
Gianna lives and works on Jaggera and Turrbal land in Meanjin/Brisbane. Her first witchcamp was 2018, where she fell in love with Reclaiming, camp, and community. Gianna has a social justice framework, is a facilitator, organiser, community member, faerie dancer, ritual maker, and magic believer. Gianna has a deep connection to their ancestral home in the Italian mountains as well as to waterways and rainforest in unceeded Aboriginal land in so called Australia.
Leaf (He/him)
Be on the lookout for this topsy-turvyy witch! He was born and raised in Bundjalung country, on the beaches of so-called northern NSW, but currently lives on Yaggera & Turrbal country in Meanjin. Leaf has been dancing in Cloudcatcher witchcamps since 2015. If left unchecked, Leaf will gonzoify any, and all sacred rituals. Frogs, drums and a passion for the beauty of the natural world are his songs. When he is not training to be a Pokemon Master, he has been known to converse with the likes of Dionysus, Hermes and Captain Planet. In his spare time, Leaf has been seen watching birds play in the rain, drinking tea, and following cool bugs.
This is Leaf’s third year as a Cloudcatcher Organiser and he is the teacher link.
